Covid-19 Update: Canada has extending its ban on cruise ships sailing through its territorial waters until the end of February 2022 because of Covid-19, effectively preventing popular summer trips to Alaska for another year. Alaska is one of the industry's top destinations, attracting 1.33 million cruise guests and growing every year. If pandemic conditions improve, it may be amended by Canada or through action by U.S. authorities, however, if not, it would potentially require the cancelation of all large ship Alaska cruises this year ( 2021 ). The current ban does not effect Summer 2022 Alaska Cruises & Cruisetours.
Health & Safety Protocols: All major cruise lines have developed health and safety measures that make travelling during the era of Covid-19 possible. There is not an industry standard for these protocols. So, you should visit the cruise line's own website, before you book a cruise or cruisetour and read what their plans are. As Covid-19 is a worldwide pandemic, you should also visit Alaska's official website: travelalaska.com and the U.S. Department of State website: travel.state.gov to stay up-to-date on individual state and country requirements for the places you will visit ( like Canada ) and review their restrictions due to Covid-19. You will be required to abide by their rules, regulations and restrictions. Failure to comply will lead to denial of boarding and you will not be allow entry to the state or country and you will not get a refund from the cruise line or other suppliers.
In The News : Eager to be aboard one of the very first cruises when cruising resumes in Alaska? If you wait too long to book, you'll be lucky if you get a cabin. Because of pent-up demand, from guests who had to rebook their trip, originally planned for 2020 or 2021, coupled with first- timers looking to travel Alaska, industry insiders say bookings for the coming year (2022 ) currently are 'well ahead' of where they normally are for this time of year. So, please contact one of our Certified Alaska Travel Advisors at 800.365.1445. They will help you navigate through it all.

WHEN TO TRAVEL TO ALASKA
Although Alaska is a year round vacation destination, the majority
of visitors arrive between mid May and mid September. Savvy
Travelers in the know visit Alaska in September and May for great
weather and easier booking. Alaska is not as crowded in May and it's
easy to take advantage of early season specials and lower rates. The
lowest rates occur during the early season. Rates go up as the
Summer goes on.
Alaska has a short visitor season and can get busy during the peak summer months. Generally, the earlier you reserve space, the better. Cruise & Rail Tours and Alaska Lodges often see peak travel dates full by October of the previous year. Alaska does not handle the volume of tourists that many other National Park destinations experience. Availability can be limited, particularly in popular destinations such as Denali National Park. Reserve your space early to choose the accommodations & shore experiences you really want to experience.
CLIMATE
Alaska's climate is diverse and can range from sunny temperatures in
the 80's to freezing temperatures at night. The best strategy is to
bring clothes that are suited to layering.
This will offer the greatest flexibility in adapting your clothing to the conditions of the day.

Did You Know?
Alaska's Denali National Park is where beauty is untamed and majestic animals roam their wide-open habitat as they have for millennia. On a Tundra Wilderness Tour, included in all escorted cruise & rail tours two- and three-night Denali stays, travel deep into the heart of Denali for the adventure of a lifetime. This comfortable, comprehensive and fully narrated, six- to eight-hour excursion takes you 62 miles into the Park's unspoiled wilderness, for up-close views of Mt. Denali. Don't forget your camera! This is your best chance to see Alaska's Alaska's Big Five animals—grizzlies, caribou, Dall sheep, moose and wolves—foraging freely in their magnificent habitat in a setting of incomparable grandeur.
Discover Denali's Big Five Wildlife
Bear can be found almost anywhere, from the forests along the
Alaska coast to national parks further inland like Denali National Park and
Preserve, where a plethora of berries keeps these permanent residents well
fed. In addition to bears, Denali is an ideal place to observe the
wide-antlered caribou, moose, gray wolves and Dall sheep, the latter
identified by its curled horns. Together, these wondrous animals constitute
the "Denali Big Five," a sightseer's dream. For many visitors adventuring to
the park, a major goal is to see wildlife. Five mammals in particular
capture visitor's imaginations and are so popular they are now referred to
as the big five. The assortment includes gawky moose browsing
in the willow, throngs of caribou loping
across the tundra, the iconic Dall
sheep nestled high on the hillsides,
formidable wolves on
the prowl, and lumbering grizzly
bears devouring blueberries.
These links will take you to the National Park Service Website ( use your
back button to return here )
Bears
Brown bears, also known as grizzlies, are lucky enough to call
Denali National Park home thanks to abundant food and a safe environment.
These bears are solitary creatures that hunt, fish and forage on their own.
As you travel through the park, you'll likely find them wandering the open
tundra in search of their next meal, or you may uncover their footprints
that tell a story of their latest adventures.
Moose
Weighing over a thousand pounds and towering above the heads of most
people, moose are an impressive sight. They're most often found roaming the
forests of Denali National Park or grazing on plants along the tundra. Moose
are even known to make a splash as they swim toward tasty aquatic plants.
Surprisingly fast, strong and imposing, moose are also well-adapted to the
snow with wide feet and warm coats.
Wolves
Wolves symbolize Alaska wilderness. They're a rare and special
sighting, as they usually stay far from visitors whenever possible. However,
Denali National Park's wilderness status makes it one of the only places
where wolf sightings are more common. They live, hunt and raise their pups
in small packs, and their howls can often be heard echoing throughout the
land.
Dall Sheep
Dall sheep are identifiable thanks to their large, curved horns and
thick white coats of fur. Males are often recognized when fighting over a
mate, creating a unique dance as they run into each other and lock horns.
There is a good chance of seeing these creatures on the hillsides of Denali
National Park, where they use ridges and steep slopes for feeding, resting
and eluding predators.
Caribou
As they wander along the tundra, a herd of caribou is usually
detected by their massive horns, long faces and brown fur. While they're
called reindeer in other parts of the world, that name is strictly reserved
for domesticated caribou in Alaska. Whether they're traveling with their
young or looking for mates in the spring, there are many chances to see
caribou when you visit Denali National Park.

IMPORTANT: Read your cruise line's passenger contract: The contract contains your legal rights, the cruise line's legal rights and information about documentation you will need to to board the cruise. It is solely your responsibility to know what documentation is necessary. Failure to produce the proper documentation at time of boarding will result in you and your traveling party denied boarding. The ship will sail without you and you will not get a refund. It's critical that all cruisers carefully go through and understand what travel documentation, like passports and visa's are required based on your itinerary and the countries you visit. The cruise line posts such information on their web site. Find it - read it- print it! Check your cruise line documentation, tickets, boarding passes etc. and cross-reference your information. If something is incorrect or doesn't match up, get it corrected immediately. If you don't, you may find yourself standing at the dock waving as your ship sails off into the sunset.
NOTE: Government regulations require that guests must use their full legal name (exact spelling, including full middle name or initial as it appears on their passport), and accurate date of birth and gender. Failure to provide correct information may result in one or more of the following: paying additional fees, cancellation of flights, airport delays, denied pre-check-in and denied boarding or travel. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date in order to travel.
Prior to booking, please consult all applicable U.S. Centers for Disease Control travel advisories, warnings, or recommendations relating to cruise travel, at www.cdc.gov/travel/notices If a certain threshold level of COVID-19 is detected onboard the ship during your voyage, the voyage will end immediately, the ship will return to the port of embarkation, and your subsequent travel, including your return home, may be restricted or delayed. Health and safety protocols, guest conduct rules, and regional travel restrictions vary by ship and destination, and are subject to change without notice. Due to evolving health protocols, imagery and messaging may not accurately reflect onboard and destination experiences, offerings, features, or itineraries. These may not be available during your voyage, may vary by ship and destination, and may be subject to change without notice.
NOTICE: Information posted on this web site was accurate when published, but rates, sailing dates, ports-of-call, discounts, special offers and amenities such as shipboard credit or cabin upgrades and all other aspects of any of the cruises listed at this web site can be changed by the cruise line or travel provider without notice. So, contact us or the cruise line to get the latest updated sailing schedule, itinerary, prices and availability BEFORE planning your cruise vacation. "Cruise Taxes, Fees, and Port Expenses" if charged, may include any and all fees, charges, tolls and taxes imposed on cruise line, by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities, as well as third party fees and charges arising from a vessel's presence in a harbor or port. Cruise Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses may include U.S. customs fees, head taxes, tolls, dockage fees, wharfage fees, inspection fees, pilotage, air taxes, hotel or VAT taxes incurred as part of a land tour, immigration and naturalization fees, and Internal Revenue Service or the equivalent fees, as well as fees associated with navigation, berthing, stevedoring, baggage handling/storage, and security services. Cruise Taxes, Fees, and Port Expenses may be assessed per passenger, per berth, per ton or per vessel. Assessments calculated on a per ton or per vessel basis will be spread over the number of passengers on the Vessel. Cruise Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses are subject to change and the cruise reserves the right to collect any increases in effect at the time of sailing even if the fare has already been paid in full. *Prices and availability are subject to change at any time. Prices are for the lowest priced cabin, often an inside cabin, for the first couple of cruises for the season: Alaska [ May-Sept] Prices go up as the Summer goes on. June, July and August are more expensive than late September or early May. Prices are provided by our cruise line partners and are per person, based on double occupancy and may not include all taxes and fees. Deals are shown in U.S. dollars, and available only for US and Canadian residents. Perks @ Sea Extras may be available for your sailing. These bonus extra's may include one or more extras such as; free cabin upgrades, free onboard spending credits, free gratuities, kids sail free or at reduced rates, free shore excursion(s), free specialty dining,or free wifi.
